Water Monopoly

Injustice in Jordan Valley, Palestine

Descargar: MP3 (9.6 MB)

On Saturday, the Friends of the Earth International (FoEI) mission in Palestine visited the Jordan Valley, to the east of the West Bank, to verify the serious conditions the different villages are enduring in the area. They live on cattle growing and agriculture. The lack of water, the seizure of Palestinian lands by the Israeli military and the demolition of houses are part of every day life there.

Meanwhile, the Israeli settlements in the region enjoy great wealth. They live on intensive fruit and vegetable agriculture. There is a striking difference between these two realities, which has led to environmental and social injustice in Palestine.

You can listen to a report about the Jordan Valley produced by a representative of the MA’AN Development Center, which is a member of PENGON – Friends of the Earth Palestine, during a trip to the area.

*The report was originally produced in Arabic and translated into English.
