Interview with Dr. Jane Kelsey, Professor of Law at the University of Auckland, New Zealand

“Not only have the mega agreements, such as TPP, TTIP and hopefully TISA, fallen over, but many countries are now withdrawing from investment agreements because of the outrage at investor-State dispute settlement. The whole neoliberal model is beginning to implode”, said Kelsey in an interview with Real World Radio, during a visit to Montevideo, Uruguay.

And this happens “not because the governments have seen the light, but because people have mobilized to say “this is not what we want for our future”. We have to capitalize on that development. We have to build on the failures of the neoliberal model”, added the activist, an expert on international economic agreements.
