The film “Voices of climate” shot in Brazil with native communities of the different regions of the country (Amazonia, Atlantic forest, Cerrado (tropical savanna) and Wetland) was launched at the Klimaforum being held in Copenhagen in parallel to the UN COP 15 on Climate Change.

Maureen Santos, member of Brazilian organization FASE and the Brazilian Network of Peoples Integration (REBRIP) told Real World Radio that “The idea of the movie was to bring together the voices of these peoples who have not had the chance to be here to talk with the European citizens and their governments”.

The organizations were involved in the making of the documentary.

Santos told us about the joint work that FASE and REBRIP are doing at the Klimaforum with the network “Climate Justice Now”, which gathers hundreds of social organizations and movements of different parts of the world and the Continental Social Alliance.

The Brazilian activist also talked about the Trade and Climate Caravan that left from Geneva on December 3rd and arrived in Copenhagen on December 9.

Nearly 80 activists participated in the side event to the 7th World Trade Organization’s Ministerial Meeting in Switzerland.

Santos said that the caravan lasted six days with actions and activities against transnational corporations, trade agreements with the EU and for climate justice.
