The resistance of the social movements in Honduras after the coup d´etat which took place on June 28th, 2009, continues, and remains strong in its claims and demands.

They state that the coup, lead by Roberto Micheletti at first, continues after the electoral sham by which Porfirio Lobo took office.

Despite the resistance, gathered in the National Resistance Front against the Coup d´Etat, couldn´t return ousted President Manuel Zelaya to office, their will to have a National Constituent Assembly to draft a democratic, constitutional and participatory text has not given in

This is what peasant leader, Rafael Alegria, said to Venezuelan network Telesur. He also said that despite the repression in Honduras continues nothing will stop the initiative, and stated that the Constituent Assembly will take place on June 28th, a year after the coup that ousted Manuel Zelaya.
